My first unit walk

Posted on

Today I got to escape from my room and take a stroll around the 5th floor. It took mommy and daddy some time to prepare me and all my stuff in the stroller but I’m sure they will get the hang of it. There sure are tons of things to pack! Vent, suction, oxygen tank (just in case), ambu bag + mask (manual resuscitator), back up trach/trach tie, airway go bag, alarm monitor, and definitely that fan. And this doesn’t even include the regular things that would need to be packed such as diapers, wipes, feeding bag, food, water, blankets, toys, spare clothes, cool shades, etc. A respiratory therapist and nurse followed us around and asked all these different scenario based questions during the unit walk. Looks like we passed the test.

I’m ready for a field trip. Let’s go!

But first, a close up family pic!

I’m FREEEEEEEEEEEEE! Out the door we go!

We ran into another four legged furry friend during our walk. He sure was curious.

Flying dog!!!

Check out all this gear that has to follow me around

New ceiling and lights to stare at!

Car seat test commences. I have to sit here without desaturating in my oygen levels for 1.5 hours.

Half way through … this is getting pretty boring, I’ll just bang Sophie around the car seat and on my face.

Anddddddd I’m out
