June 2019 Highlights

Ok, for any of the loyal readers still out there, I am very sorry for how far this blog has trailed behind. Mommy, the Editor in Chief, has been double booked working full time on another gig (traitor) since May of this year so my blog hasn’t received much love.

To catch up with present time, I have agreed with my minion staff to speed up the updates with just highlights per month. Though not a fan of this new only one second a day reel since I believe my life deserves a full front cover feature for every minute of my exciting adventures, I approved of the workaround. You all have been missing out too much in the last few months!

Let’s break down the June highlights:

  • Started to explore the rest of the playground (e.g. cruising the apparatus while holding onto something, going down slides, bouncing on the springy rocker/rider – Did you know this was invented in the 1970s in Denmark?). My swing experience was also enhanced with beach views.
  • Visited Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, went on the swings with views of the beach cove, strolled a long ways to the end of the Cabrillo Beach Pier
  • Got some weird summer cold for a few days. Snot galore rolling out of my nose, increased suction, watery eyes. 🤧
  • Went to the 32nd Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair and Music Festival. Lots of loud carnival rides and interesting vendors set up.
  • Made a rocketship frame at school for Father’s Day. Mommy got matching baby shark and daddy shark tees for us!
  • Visitors! Mommy’s cousin, Auntie Jasmine, came all the way from Toronto to hang out with me. I also got to see all of my cousins (from SF & LA) on mommy’s birthday weekend for Yee Ma’s super secret surprise birthday Party 🎉 My Po Po and gung gung spent lots of time with me hitting up new parks, Redondo beach Main Library, dim sum, and Redondo Beach Historical Museum. Slumber party with Yee Ma and her kids at our place. We made buttons with daddy, hung out in the ball bit, watched Totoro (though I was facing away from the screen 🙄), enjoyed some mochi donuts from Mitsuwa, went to Manhattan Beach pier and aquarium
  • My feet touched the beach waves for the first time and boy was I NOT happy about it! Who in the world would enjoy those cold clammy loud crashing waves 😤
  • Visited Travel Town with Yee Ma’s family. It’s a really cool railway museum located near Griffith Park. The exhibits focus on railroad transportation in the western United States from 1880 to the 1930s. We even got to go on a neat train ride. I sat in the back with Daddy
  • Got a new shorter hair style and buzz cut, thanks to my Yee Ma’s amazing skillz! It’s the only time I get to see moving things singing on a giant screen in front of me 🤔 Why is everyone trying to distract me…
  • Sprint schedule: 45 minutes twice a day (morning and late afternoon)
  • OT highlights: put carrots in mouth, played with whip cream, licked a lollipop, put the oral sponge swabs in my mouth, attempted modified bath time in the kitchen sink
  • PT highlights: working on my sit to stand, Knees to stand, building strength for standing but very wobley unless fully supported or holding onto something, and making the most progress in my crawling! I must show you the full length videos below to do this milestone justice! I secretly crawled longer distances when no one really paid attention or pushed me so mommy caught me on the Nest cam 🎥
