Swallow study and rainy days suck

I’ve been having feeding sessions everyday to prepare for some sort of modified barium swallow study (MBSS) to evaluate how I am swallowing foods and liquids. The puree is dyed with a small amount of a white powder called barium to allow the therapist to view the food or liquid on the X-ray as I am swallowing. An X-ray “movie” called a fluoroscopy is made of my mouth and throat while I eat and drink. The doctors want to make sure I don’t aspirate when swallowing food because that would be very bad for my lungs.

Dry run time – wasn’t sure what that big machine was to the right of me but it made me feel clustrophobic.
Bye bye x-ray machine. I didn’t do so bad with the right amount of distraction and silliness. The barium actually tasted decent.
Valentine’s Day was swallow test day. Check out my mini x-ray protector. Despite having a mean, grumpy radiologist who had 0 patience, I still got two puree spoonfuls and one liquid swallow in. I’m at least cleared to continue small trials of puree and thin liquids in dysphagia treatment at home by a therapist or care giver. Hopefully this will help with my severe oral aversion 🤞🏻
Lunch time! Joining the uprights at the big table.
Using chopsticks the right way
Daddy sure knows how to put on a good show while waiting for food
Oops I reached too far and dipped my fingers in the food
Had to stay indoors because of the yucky weather so we watched the rain from inside
Playing with food
This is what I think of you rainy dayz 🤬

Being trapped indoors means fun times with filters:

Putting all the fingers in my mouth because gums are itchy from upper molars sprouting out
I can make an orchestra of noises with my tongue!

These puppet dancing bells cracked me up

Waiting for mommy to read me books before I sleep
